Phacoemulsification, Cataract Extractor is an device used by an ophthalmologists for cataract surgery primarialy in diabetic patients. Phacoemulsification (a small incision in the eye's internal lens which is emulsified)cataract is a surgical procedure in which a ultrasonic device can be used to break up and then remove a cloudy lens, or cataract, from the eye to improve vision. Charles Kelman introduced phacoemulsification in 1967 after being inspired by his dentist's ultrasonic probe.
