"Biomedtalk-L is a Listserv that is used to discuss topics related to the Biomedical Technician and Clinical Engineer. Equipment problems, Job opportunities, JCAHO discussions are only a few of the topics which have been discussed. The membership is worldwide and includes over 13 countries. We have representation from the FDA, ECRI, AAMI, JCAHO, many manufacturers, ISO's, In-House Departments and students. Anyone who has an interest in the Biomedical industry is welcome to join. If for any reason the service does not meet your needs, simply sign off at your command. Funds are non-refundable."[1] The Listserv was started by Mike Kauffman in September of 1997.[2] A post from Mike Kauffman dated 14 Feb 2008 said there are currently 1300 members.

In early 2010 ECRI Institute announced its purchase of the biomed listserv, Biomedtalk-L. It is used to discuss topics related to the Biomedical Technician and Clinical Engineer. Equipment problems, job opportunities, and Joint Commission discussions are only a few of the topics which have been discussed. We have representation from the FDA, AAMI, the Joint Commission, many manufacturers, independent service organizations, in-house departments and students.
